The most common reason for downloads failing is that the user's antivirus and/or firewall is blocking the download. In this case you need to give permission in the settings of them to allow the download to progress. Or temporarily turn them off.
Additionally, sometimes Windows Ransomware/Folder protection also can cause problems; if that is your situation you need to temporarily disable it.
Assuming you have succeeded in downloading the initial file, which is a Download Manager do you see any error message when attempting to run it? Or do you not even see Download Manager being saved to your computer?
I now have the downloaded file and it is downloading the program it says is 1.27 GB file. It is estimating 1 hour and 16 minutes. I've never had any program take that long to download. My wifi is working fine and my computer is brand new and plenty fast enough... Any advice? Thanks.
The download file actually download initially without me doing anything. That was pretty normal. When it was so slow to extract the program I stopped it, deleted the file and tried again. That is when it would not download at all but after several attempts I did turn the firewall off and it downloaded again. I just tested my download speed. Its 38 Mbps. We stream TV with it with no issues.
But the magix file is coming in at 274 kb/s. It still shows to need 44 minutes to finish.
Your tested download speed is almost identical to mine! So I think it is an issue with the Magix servers. 274 kb/s is definitely not normal!
I don't need to download anything from them at the moment so can't check what happens for me but @CubeAce has just commented to say that he, too, is experiencing slow browsing in the forums!
Since you say you previously had Movie Studio 2014 do be aware that Magix Movie Studio is a very different program! It is based on and is a rebadged version of Magix Movie Edit Pro.
Do have a look at the tutorials section of this forum to learn a great deal about your new program! Many of them, though badged as Movie Edit Pro, also fully apply to Movie Studio.
Thanks. I actually did not realize that until I opened the program and looked around. I will check out some tutorials. I might also go over to Vegas Edit and upgrade to it if the learning curve looks too steep for Magix. I also still have MS 2014 installed on my computer.
