Can't find playback speed (scrub control) option in Sound Forge 12.6

Hi.
Where is the playback speed (scrub control) option in Sound Forge 12.6?
I don't have the scroller ("Rate" <-->) at the bottom of the page and don't see it in any of the options or help notes.
I re-installed the program - no change.
(Windows 10 64bit etc.)
Please help asap :)
Thank you!

- Chayim

In SF10 and 13 pro, it's on the bottom of the data window, i.e. you have to have a sound open to see it.

Thank you, James -
My audio is open in many formats, including wav and mp3 - and I'm editing mixing etc. etc. - I just don't see that scrolling option - which would be very helpful now and save many hours.
Any other ideas?

Hmm, then I don't know, maybe @rraud can help. I just searched the SF12 manual and didn't see a configuration option to enable/disable it. Here's what the scrub control looks like in SF13 Pro:

Yes - that's what is looks like in my previous versions too... before I upgraded to 12.6 - I had SF for many years - all the other versions had it - and my version 12.6 suddenly doesn't - strange. How do I find @rraud ?

@Chayim-Alevsky

You are using SF Audio Studio, not SF Pro, hence the difference between what @James-Lo's screenshot shows and what you are seeing.

However, did you search the installed Help for "Playback" or "Scrub"? This is what a very quick search produced for me.

Scrubbing

Here can adjust the scrubbing mode settings for the preview tool. See "Edit" > "Tool".

Shuttle: This mode allows you to use the absolute position of the mouse in the window to control the speed. The mouse positions can be understood as follows:

Mouse pointer on the left border

=

double speed backwards

Mouse pointer in the middle

=

no movement

Mouse pointer on the right border

=

double speed forwards

Absolute: The distance between the playback marker and mouse position is used for tempo control. This means that the play cursor follows the movements of the mouse at max speed and automatically slows down when it gets close to the mouse.

One Speed: Playback follows the movements of the mouse at original speed. Holding the Shift key uses half original speed. The "Ctrl" key applies the speed set in the "Speed" field.

Two Speed: Here you can use two speeds for scrubbing. If the mouse pointer is moved a bit away from the cursor, playback happens at original speed. Playback slows down according to the value set under Scrubbing Speed when the mouse pointer is close to the cursor (default is 0.25, i.e. 1/4 of the original speed).

Note: If a scrubbing speed greater than 1 is set, this speed will be used for the faster scrubbing. The slower scrubbing will happen at original speed.

Scrubbing Speed: Here you can specify a speed relative to the original speed for the second scrubbing tempo. The range of values stretches from 0.01 to 10.0, i.e. 1/100 of the original speed up to ten times the regular speed.

Thank you, Jeff - I saw that too - but can't figure out how to make it work.
It just speeds through way too fast to grasp - no matter the # I set it to.
I just want that scroller back :)
