Can't change pitch

John-Cotis wrote on 9/14/2019, 7:34 PM

I've just upgraded to Magix 2020 from a previous version. In the previous version I could select the centre handle of a sample to change the pitch. No Centre handle is appearing to allow for a pitch change and I can't figure out how to make it appear or what alternative I have. The pitch and tempo options are faded out. Any suggestions?

@John-Cotis

Hi and welcome to the forum.

. . . . I've just upgraded to Magix 2020 from a previous version . . . .

Without knowing which version you upgraded from - the handles do appear to have disappeared when in the correct mouse mode ie Stretch.

I have also checked earlier versions of MMM 2015 and 2016 and they are the same.

However there are several ways to change the pitch, the quickest and most accurate are to use the Pitch bar or the * and / keys on the keyboard number pad.

More information on these is in the PDF manual available under help pp 36 and 56.

Thank you for the response. I upgraded from 2014 which served me faithfully for a long time! My issue is that in 2014 I could import a wav file and adjust the pitch using the handles. Now, i import a wav file and if the wav doesn't come with tempo information I can't use the * and / keys to adjust its pitch and I am not sure where the pitch bar is. It says in the instructions that the middle object handles allow one to adjust the pitch, but there are no middle object handles. Im totally lost on how to do something that was relatively easy to accomplish previously. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
