The Computer ID is normally needed only if the user is attempting to create an off-line activation; i.e., the computer where the software is installed is not connected to the internet. Otherwise no such number is needed for standard activation of the product, it is generated "automatically".
So, are you attempting to activate MM on a different computer to the one where the app is installed?
no,its the same computer.I tried not putting in the ID but it still said that I needed to because it was asterisked and therefore required.I did that and it said that it couldn't be activated but " try again later "
@Lawrence-Stutz There is some confusion about the computer ID. The computer ID is not a number you can find anywhere. It is only shown by performing an offline activation in a Magix software. This isn't possible with the current version of Music Maker which can only be activated by having an online connection.
If you still use a very old version of Music Maker which has a serial number starting with P2, you can select to activate the software by telephone or FAX. Then you can see the computer ID generated by Magix.
Lawrence indicated in his initial message at the top that this is a new purchase. If he watches the tutorial, he should be able to better understand what he is supposed to do...I hope.
