Can't Activate Vita as it says it needs online activation "Error -17"

I have just bought myself a Midi to USB cable (Official Yamaha one) and connected my Yamaha QY100 to Magix Music Maker Premium 2014 on windows 10 PC  and it works like a dream, but when I tried to open the "Power Guitar" I got a message saying "Online activation required" after agreeing it connects to the internet (which is on, connected and working) it then gives me the message "Error -17, can't activate Vita" so I cannot use any of the guitar pre-sets. Does anyone know how this can be got around please?

Any help anyone can give will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi

. . . . .  on windows 10 PC . . . .

Was this an upgrade from 7 or 8 ?

If so then you need to re-install the program using this procedure.

Hi John, thank you for that, that will explain why when i installed the midi cable driver on my other PC (Win7) i didn't have this issue. But although I can use the QY100 as a Midi Keyboard using the voices from the Music Maker I can't get my Electric Guitar to come through the software, is there a setting somewhere where i can get the "Power Guitar" up and use their voices with my guitar? I'm desperate to get it all working together so i can start recording! Thanks again for the info. Take care. Scott.

I have the same issue with Power Guitar, but my Windows 10 installation isn't from Windows 7/8 update. I have updated it to Anniversary Update version, and recently to Creators' Update version. Do I have to follow the same steps?

Thank you in advance!

Follow the tutorial I linked to - this will check the Creators Edition update to ensure it is OK.
