Can not drag video clips

Bill-the-repair-guy wrote on 6/23/2023, 8:06 PM

all my video clips i import into my project i am creating. I have Movie Studio 2023 Plat in timeline mode. in Movie studio 16 I use to select all, or take the clip i wanted and drop it down a track or 2 then select and drag, went real fast. Now if i do that i grab the first clip of several selected that i want to move to the end of my presentation, when i get near the end of the viewable area the cursor slides down the selected clips till it gets to the end of the clips, the icon changes to an icon like MS is thinking, then clears and seems it went only a short distance. so i have to keep dragging and dropping. now MS will not even push my video clips out of the viewable are it gets down to a fraction of one of the last clips and no further. either way

Hi William.

It sounds as if you could be running out of available ram. Check the commit charge using Task Manager and see if the commit charge is larger than your onboard ram. That could cause those types of problems.

That's my system just at idle with a few folders of images open.

i am using about 83% sometimes goes up to 95% of RAM, my task manager does not have the extended view like yours does. for the time being in the time line the slider at the bottom that i drag to advance or go back through the clips. I dragged the slider bigger making the clips all fit in the window, like that I can drag the clips where i want then close the slider backup, will order more RAM

UPDATE. :: I was only showing 8gb of RAM...strange. I checked had one stick in The A1 slot and another in the B1 slot, moved the B! ram to A2, now I have 16gb, unfortunately still having the issue.
