Can I separate audio and video in Photostory Deluxe 2023

DannyP wrote on 2/13/2023, 5:51 PM

I have a few video clips on my slideshow timeline in Photostory Deluxe 2023 and I need to extend the audio past the video end, however. I don't seem to be able to separate the audio and video. I can drag the video to another track but it pulls the video with it. So I need to ungroup. Is this functionality not available in Photostory Deluxe? If it is please explain, if not, what add-on do I need to sort this?

@DannyP

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

You can separate video and audio but it is not entirely obvious how to do it!

  1. Make sure you are in Timeline view
  2. With your video track open on the timeline right-click on it and choose Audio and Waveform Display>Create Waveform Display.
  3. Make sure the whole video is highlighted on the Timeline.
  4. Then find the Ungroup icon (it looks like a broken chain, immediately below the monitor screen). Left-click on the icon and the audio and video will now be separate. The audio track can now be copied to wherever you wish. Just remember to not move the original audio track or it will be out of sync with your video.

Thank you Jeff, that works. Much appreciated. Very disappointed that the help functions of the software didn’t cover that off.

Hi

If you have not done so I would advise you to download the PDF manual available under Help in the program, you may find this more useful then the in program Help.
