I have been useing my movie edit pro 15 for some years and its been ok .

But now when i open it it says Colour Scheme has been changed to Vista Basic ??

But the main point of the question is

I have been useing my Sony mini dv tapes to compile a viseo and edit no problem.

But now someone has lent me a Panasonic camcorder that uses avchd to record to.

The question is can i use both formats or files to compile into one movie ?

Yes you can mix multiple types of video and photo files, assuming the are compatible with MEP.  Almost all major ones are.

Assuming the Sony tapes have a 4:3 aspect ratio and the Panasonic avchd is 16:9, one of the source files' video will be letter boxed.

If they are two different aspect ratios, to make editing easier and ensure you output will be how you see in in the time line, specify the aspect ratio you want in the Movie Settings and the Preview Monitor.  This should be the same as what your final output is going to be.
