I upgraded to Movie Studio 18 to install on a new computer. It looks nice, but I have some simple needs that are served very well with the older versions (I started with 9 and have upgraded a few times, most recently to 16).
Can I trade my v18 key in for a 16?

Did installing MS 18 uninstall your copy of 16?
If so go to your user account and see if MS16 is still registered there and can be downloaded. It may not be, it seems some people do get that choice and others do not. No idea why.
I do have Vegas MS 17 and Movie Edit Pro 2021 and Movie Edit Pro 2022 showing.

Thanks a lot for your response. I got the installer but it no longer shows my v16 key -- and I have lost it. I wondered if there was a way to trade in my v18 key.

Hi,
You should be able to get the serial number for Vegas MS 16 and download it from your account on the Magix.com site. Log in and go to My Products.
I doubt that you will get a refund for Magix Movie Studio 18 but you can try. I suggest that you try it out. It has features and much more content than Vegas MS. It should simplify things for you once you get past the different interface and way of doing things.

Thanks, browj2 -- It does have some things I like: the audio mixer, for one, is really cool. And I suspect if my projects were a little more ambitious, I'd make great use of them.
My needs are pretty simple, and after several hours, it does not seem to do them. I was not looking for a refund, but my v16 key is not shown on the website and I was hoping they might trade me one.
