So I used Samplitude Pro for years. That computer blew up a few years back. Bought what I thought Sound Forge Pro 15 was the correct software equal to it, but meanwhile it would appear they still make Samplitude. Can I switch programs?
If not, is Sound Forge any good for recording live music?

A multi-track DAW like Samplitude, SloTools. Reaper or even Vegas is what you want if you wish to mix it afterwards. Sound Forge is a multi-channel app and can record a mono, stereo, surround or other premixed sound though. To summarize, you cannot effectually mix a band's individual components with Sound Forge (Audio Studio or Pro). It is designed for mastering and editing the songs though as well as restoration and surgical repairs.
