Hi

The DVD standard for resolution is 720 x 576 (PAL) or 720 x 480 (NTSC).

For hi resolution ie 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 then you will have to burn a Blu-Ray disc - this does assume you have a BD burner and BD Player.
