Burning hardware not detected in Photostory on DVD 2013 Deluxe.

I am trying to burn a DVD using an external DVD burner on my Lenovo laptop, Windows 10, using PhotoStory on DVD 2013 Deluxe version 12.0.6.85. I am getting the message that burning hardware is not detected. However, I am able to burn using this burner with other software. I have updated drivers on the burner; I have updated photostory, including patches and burn routines. This has worked before using the same laptop and burner, but I have reinstalled Windows because of problems so some settings may have changed. Any suggestions? I appreciate your help.

Was the laptop  running Window 7 or 8 before when Photostory working fine?

If so then re-install Photostory using this procedure then update the Burn routines again.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I used to use Photostory on Windows 8. However, after getting a new hard drive, I updated to Windows 10 and THEN installed Photostory, updates, patches and burn routines.

Do you mean this was a clean install of Windows 10 on the new hard drive, or Windows 8 was installed on the new hard drive then upgraded to 10 before Photostory was installed?

The procedure I recommended you use will fix any issues arising from the upgrade and ensure that your Windows 10 installation is correct and remnants of the previous installation are removed.

this will then allow a clean install of Photostory.

Windows 8 was installed, then I upgrades to Windows 10, then I installed Photostory. I will follow the procedure you sent and see what happens! Thank you again.
