burning DVD and Exporting

smithstonia wrote on 7/23/2011, 10:25 AM

okay so I am finally finished editing my video and I tried to burn a DVD that wouldn't work so I'm trying to export the file so I can then put it on DVD  that's not working out for me either. How do I get these two videos I put together on a DVD? DO I even have to export the files first?

Hi

A lot more information is needed -

1.  Which version of MEP are you using?

2.  Downloaded from Magix or disc installation?

3.  Video formats used on timeline?

4.  Which DVD menu template are you using?

5. Can you play the DVD menu in Preview mode on the Burn tab?

6.  Does the burn fail and give any error messages?

7.  What make DVD discs are you trying to burn to?

8.  Can you burn a DVD using the Image Recorder option in the Burn dialog?

The more info the better. Thanks

John

1. MEP MX

2. Disc Install

3. From digital video camera

4. default

5. Yes

6.

7. HP dvd-r 16x

8. haven't tried

OK.  But you have not actually answered ALL of johnebaker's questions, unfortunately!

1.  Specifically, which "brand" of MX, Standard, Plus or Premium?

3.  What format are the files?  MediaInfo (free download) will show you if you're nit sure.  Unfortunately, just telling us "digital video camera" is no help; there are a number of possibilities for the actual file format.

6.  Why no answer?

8.  Why haven't you tried?  This method is often the best way around the problem; using "Image Recorder" on the Burn Screen drop-down menu effectively bypasses MEP's own "Burn Routines" and creates an Image File which can then be burned to DVD in other (external) programmes.  A number of people here use ImgBurn, or Roxio or Nero; my personal choice is Ashampoo Burning Studio (currently version 11.)
