Burning Additional DVDs

JWLoewen wrote on 7/13/2015, 2:20 PM

My not-so-powerful computer took over 30 minutes to encode and burn a DVD from my project. Now I'd like to burn additional copies of it. There is a sub-folder in my Magix folder in Windows Explorer named Disc Images which has a sub-foler named after this project and has the .vob files as found on the finished DVD. So It seems as though I could burn it to a new DVD without encoding it all over again.

Is there a way within MEP 2013 to do this? Or do I need to change a setting before doing the initial encode and burn in order to make copies later?

Hi,

Magix Speed burnR should have come with 2013. In MEP, go to File, Burn CD/DVD, Burn copy of an already created video disk. This opens Speed burnR. Navigate to the correct folder, select, it will load all of the files, change any parameters, burn, or something like that. I don't have 2013 on my computer anymore.

Hi

Alternatively you could use a program like ImgBurn to copy the disc - this will also allow creation of multiple copies easier - it reads the disc once and then writes the number of copies you specified.

I always create my first disc of a project on DVD-RW or BD-RE for testing - once the movie(s) are as I want them and they play OK on DVD-RW or BD-RE, I use Nero Burning ROM to copy the rewriteable to permanent disc - this saves money if you find you need to make a correction or alter the move.
