re: Movie Edit Pro MX ver 11

up to now - if i wanted to burn more than one video to a dvd - i strung them together - made each a chapter - and burned them with the chapter menu showing - but having to manually stop the video at the end of each video/chapter is troublesome

is there a way in this product to make the separate videos a different "film" that will automatically stop and return to the menu

The way you have worked now, is placing two or more films on the same timeline. In fact, you have only 1 film (consisting of 2 or more parts). If you now take one of your older projects and place the cursor exactly where film no. 2 starts, and then point on the razorblade, you'll have 5 choices; the lower one is Split movie. (Alt+Y) Press that one, and the rest of your film(s) will be moved onto a new Timeline. By clicking triangle at Filmwheel, you will see the 2 films. You can have more than 2 films in a Project.

Normally, when the first film is imported to timeline, and you click on film no. 2, you'll get the question Close current project and Add new projectAdd will place film no 2 on a new timeline.   --- Now you'll have other ways of making Menues for the films.

Hi

I would like to expand asoeli's reply

The second part of aseolis reply refers to adding an existing project to the one you have open.

If you have only the one project on the timeline and you want to start to create a second movie, ie one that does not exist yet, within the same project, then click the triangle by the Filmwheel icon and select New movie you can now start importing video etc onto the second timeline - it also helps if you change the default names of the movies so you know which is which - Filmwheel icon, Rename

MEP takes care of the menu structure enabling you to select which movie you want to play - this takes you to a second menu page if you have chapters as well and gives you the option to go play the movie or go to the chapters page(s)

@aesoli - great way to quickly seperate a movie - learned something new there and very useful for me - thank you.

John - a different one

thanks to the both of you - i had an opportunity to use all the methods mentioned - and they all worked - i'm very appreciative - and very relieved that it's so easy to do - it was just hard for me to find the answer until i tried this forum
