[Bug] Virtual Keyboard in Music Maker 2017 Premium Steam Edition

RendCycle wrote on 3/20/2018, 10:14 AM

I just gave in and bought the Music Maker 2017 Premium Steam Edition version 24.1.5.115 (UDST). Would like to quickly check it out and see if it will suit my requirements else will refund it from Steam. Anyhow, so far most seems ok but when I tried playing some instruments like the Drum Engine in my computer keyboard, the ones in the Instrument Window Panel does not seem to match the keys in the big Virtual Keyboard at the bottom of the screen. The indicated Letters & Numbers in the keys seems to not match. Is this a bug? When clicking the big bottom Virtual Keyboard, I still have to move to the left section of the keyboard and press unmarked keys for a sound to play. Please click here for an image illustrating the bug. As an example, if I press an unmarked key (see red rectangle in the illus.), a sound will play.

Please let me know if this is a bug or I am just confused and there is a setting somewhere that I need to correct. Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Tried setting it to "dynamic" and also "software" / "Software", but it doesn't work for the 2017 Premium Steam Edition version 24.1.5.115 (UDST). 😯

Hi

. . . . 2017 Premium Steam Edition version 24.1.5.115 (UDST) . . . .

This is the previous version of Music Maker.

The current version is Music Maker Premium, sometimes referred to as Music Maker 2018, version 25.1.2.78.

My advice is get a refund and buy the current version direct from Magix.

I noticed the bug happens only on selected instruments (i.e. Drum Engine) but those instruments normally packaged with the free version of Music Maker has no Virtual Keyboard problems. If I get the Premium version in this site, I might still experience the same issue for my type of set up and pay a lot more. I hope Magix will fix the problem in the Steam edition as this is a major bug and does not look good on them continually selling it while they already have a fixed version (if indeed they have) for some time. I might just refund it and get the free version. Then try out something recommended for game music creation like Reaper maybe. Thank you for all your help! I truly appreciate it. Good luck to you always!

Hi

I hope Magix will fix the problem in the Steam edition

Highly unlikely, I think! First it is the Steam edition and NOT Magix' "own, directly-sold" version; and, as John EB has pointed out, that Steam edition is NOT the latest version.

But Magix manages the sale on that software in Steam and also earn profit from that right even a little compared to the directly-sold version in this site?

Also, if I buy the Premium version here and it still did not work for me, can I get a refund from Magix directly?
