Hi,
This is a common occurrence and it's actually a good thing. Studio recording has two layers: balanced/unbalanced and stereo/mono - and many entry level recording interfaces have two channels to record to... the left channel and the right channel. To record in stereo (left and right sides), you would either need a mixer board, two mics or a stereo mic with dual cables.

Magix has a great feature (not sure where it is in MM14) that allows you to record in mono. For me the setting is located in the advance portion of the record dialog. By checking the mono button it will record evenly across both channels and your problem is solved.

If you're using your PC sound card to record (which you should never do) then make sure you don't have the mic/line-in panned hard left in the volume control section of windows (located by double clicking the speaker icon on your task bar).

Thanks,
Justin
