Book: Making Music With Samples by Daniel Duffell

I just bought this on  Amazon for a very good price. The book is out of date (2005) on a lot of the software, but is full of very good information on the general principles of samples, how they work, how to make them, etc., etc., and it includes two CDs, one full of examples that one can use with the book lessons and the other one has over 500MB of demonstration samples (non commercial use) to play with from Zero-G

Fascinating history on sampling and on studio setup, most of which is still very relevant. Also, the copyright section is excellent and has a lot of information that any one could benefit from

The heading of this section is "Questions and Answers".  Where does it say that you HAVE to post a question?

Reading is a good thing.  It's obvious more people should be doing it.  Many of them should start with the user's manuals.

While some books may be a little out of date, there's always useful information that can be gleaned from them.  I'm sure this one is no different.  The freebie's ain't bad either.
