Bogging down on PDF import

Anthony-Smith6598 wrote on 9/23/2021, 3:37 PM

I do large graphic layouts for Automotive Safety Layouts.

If importing a converted PDF as an underlay to trace the program often bogs down and will have to be restarted after waiting an extended period of time. Processing sticks at 99% but goes no further. i purposely group the Autocad objects before converting to PDF.

This failure tp process happens often. Please advise what the problem is.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Please do not duplicate post on the same issue, I have hidden ythe duplicate post.

As you have had no response so far it is unlikely that another user has had the same problem.

Which version number of Photo and Graphic Designer are you using - see under Help, About

. . . . If importing a converted PDF  . . . .

What do you mean by this, ie converted to what?

Do you mean the software used to create the Automotive Safety Layouts output was a PDF file and it is this you are trying to import?

If so then PDF files come in several 'flavours' the standard being PDF-A , which PDF format are you using?

Additionally:

  1. Are images vector, raster or a mix of both?
  2. Is transparency used in any of the images?
  3. Are any text fonts being embedding in the document?
