Blacking

Hello friends,
I want to achieve an effect which darkens the subject upto that extreme level that it looks black. i have attached two examples as below.
I remember I had accidentally done once the same effect by using chroma key but sadly don’t remember that.

Can someone, kindly, guide me?
Regards.

Hi Anirban

Is the subject you wish to darken in a still image or video clip?

The level of success using any of the video effects options will depend greatly on the image/video contrast, brightness and colour range.

For a still image you can edit a copy of it in an image editor to remove all the background and make the subject black and use this in the project.

For video try using Chroma key, Color mode - selecting the colours you want to remove from the image and then brightness/contrast to achieve a black/white image

John.

Hi Anirban,

John is absolutely right, here is how to do it.  No audio, just titles to explain (my wife is sleeping).
