Best way to use Multicam mode please?

weedavy6969 wrote on 4/12/2016, 1:23 PM

Hi again!

My GF is a Primary teacher and has recently put on a show with her children....

I recorded with 2 Samsung Galaxy S5 phones on Tripods in HD.

I Recorded the Dress rehearsal performance (from Left and from the right)

and also recorded the main show performance (from Left and from the right)

So I now have 4 different  FULL 'versions' of the Show..The show lasts 20 mins btw

I tried to put all 4 on the timeline and use the sound to align but it wasn't good!

Ended up a mess of clips!

Any idea's on the best way to make a full performance out of all these versions and easily switch from one to another?

Getting myself all in a muddle now...hmm

Thanks in advance

Dave

Hi again..

Yes..that's what's happening..(I've left tracks 1 and 2 blank) in Multi Cam mode

But when I try to do an edit ..it just comes up in a small box on the right hand side of the screen!

PS..I've did an edit of a rock band a few months back using Multu Cam Mode and it worked a TREAT!

Thought therefore ..this would be easy!.

Hi

Looking at the screen shot and the comment:

. . . it just comes up in a small box on the right hand side of the screen! . . .

it looks like you have not clicked Edit, Multicam again to turn off Multicam editting mode - this will then return you to normal view with track 1 being shown when you set it to Solo mode as you already have done.

Hi

You have six videos on the timeline and you have unmuted the videos on tracks 7 and 8 so the preview window is showing the video on track 8.

In multicam mode you can have a maximum of 4 source videos on the timeline any more than this are muted when you enter multicam mode.

If you need all 6 videos then you cannot use multicam mode in MEP and are going to have to manually cut and delete the sections of each that you need in the final video.

To edit more than 4 tracks in multicam mode you would need to use Video Pro X which allows upto 9 source tracks.
