Beatbox not rendering

Alex-OH wrote on 11/25/2021, 7:15 AM

Hi, I've just started using Beatbox (the free version, not pro). As far as I understand, to create a sample from it I need to grab the waveform block and drag it into the main editor.

However, when I pick up that block, it turns into a "loading" circle and stays like that forever and doesn't change (well... up to 30 seconds, which is as long as I've tried holding the mouse button down). What do I need to do to create the sample from Beatbox?

Hi

. . . . I've just started using Beatbox (the free version, not pro) . . .

Beatbox is a simple drum machine which is programmable using a step sequencer - see Beatbox in the manual available under Help, Documentation

If you are trying to use audio samples as a source for 'playing' you need the Live Pads feature which is not available in the Free edition. Live Pads and their usage are also covered in the manual.

Thanks, John! Sorry, maybe I didn't explain myself correctly. Probably the word "sample" was incorrect and I should have said "loop".

Basically, I can only play the beats inside Beatbox. I can't make it generate anything that I can then put into the rest of the mix.

In the documentation it says "Render audio loop: If you drag the loop symbol  onto an empty track in the arranger, the current pattern will be saved as an audio file "

This isn't working for me. I drag the loop symbol, it turns into a "loading" symbol, and it doesn't do anything else. If I try to drop it onto the mix, nothing is created.

Hi

Thanks for the clarification.

I have tested Beatbox and it works for me.

When dragging to a track, try the following - press and hold down the mouse on the button and then move the mouse to the track you require, do not release the mouse button - you will see the button animate, as shown below, as soon as the button has cycled through and stopped release the mouse button immediately.

Also check that you are using the Magix Low Latency ASIO driver in the Program settings, Audio/Midi tab.

Aha, the sound driver was the issue. I hadn't been getting any sound out with the ASIO driver so had switched to direct sound. But, when I put it through ASIO with another output, it's working now.

Thanks John!

Greetings, can anyone direct me to where the controls are for "Beatbox Pro"? I assume one can create a longer step sequence, adjust the swing feel by slider, and more, like many Magix Music Maker drum machines. I have MM 2022 Premium which does include BB Pro. Tell me it is really Pro, with a few normal advance feathers. I mean, Robota is insANELY ADVANCED.

As far as I can see there are no controls. Pro seems to mean more sounds. The old Beatbox had controls like pan and velocity and other stuff even including envelope and pitch controls for each voice. Whatever Beatbox is it's not Pro.
