basic usage

I am so frustrated with this photostory product. Cannot ask a simple question without waiting for 2 days for a response. This is so unintuitive! I cannot right click to copy, paste. I cannot send a photo to the beginning of the slide show. I cannot find an option to "select all". I need to speak with someone please! Rick Howard Phone number removed by Moderator

Welcome to the Magix user to user public forums, so not a contact for any Magix staff and confidential data, like your phone number, should never be posted here. Hence, I have edited your post.

Your specific question require a rather longer answer than I have time available at the moment but I will hope to return to this thread later or another user may see your post and respond to it..

Hi

Photostory does not have some right click options you may see in other programs, this is by design. PS relies on menu driven selections or standard Windows keyboard shortcuts for some functions:

Copy and Paste - select the item to be copied then either select Edit, Copy from the top menu, or Ctrl+C - the standard Windows keyboard shortcut for Copy, move the timeline cursor to where you want to paste and either select Edit, Paste, or use Ctrl+V.

There is another copy/paste method, which only works when in Timeline mode, Drag and drop - while holding down the Ctrl key, left click the item, and while holding down the left mouse key, drag the item to where you want it to be.

Move item position - select the item to be moved then either select Edit, Cut from the top menu, or Ctrl+X, move the timeline cursor to where you want to paste and either select Edit, Paste, or use Ctrl+V, then paste as above.

Note:- a quick method to move to the start of the timeline is the keyboard Home key- for the end of the timeline the End key.

Hi,

Just ask here.

Select all in Timeline mode - shortcut is the standard Ctrl+A or top menu, Edit, Select all.

In Timeline mode, you can lasso objects by starting in a blank area and dragging with the left mouse button held down.

You can select more than one object the standard way - hold down Ctrl and select by clicking on the objects with the left mouse button.

In Storyboard mode, you can move objects (photos and video clips) by dragging them with the left mouse button. The other objects move out of the way. This is for track 1 only. However, in Timeline mode, this is more difficult as you have to open up a gap by moving the objects out of the way unless, of course, there is nothing in the way or you are putting the object on another track. This is easily done by changing the mouse mode to "Attach objects in all tracks" and moving the first one to the right - all other objects are selected and move. Switch back to normal mouse mode then select and drag the object that you want.

Here is a quick video showing most of the above.

There is usually more than one way to do things.

Have you read the Quick Start chapter in the manual?
