AVCHD and Blu Raydiscs made with MEP16 won't play on Panasonic DMP BDT210 player. Help!

When I burned a movie in ACVHD format (on a DVD-R blank) only the audio plays (no video) on my Panasonic DMP BDT210 player.  This same disc plays fine on my computer with Roxio CinePlayer.  And a burn of this same movie as a BD (BluRay) disc won't play AT ALL on the 210. Calling Panasonic was no help.  What can be done?  So frustrating!

Hi,

Have you updated the bios of you Panasonic Blu-Ray player, you must update both player and TV from Panasonic Website. This is the first thing to do.

You can done easily just plug you internet network cable on TV.

Hi

This could be a simple case of disc incompatablity with the BDT210 - also check that you have not muted the video track(s) on the timeline.

Try a different brand of disc or better still get a couple of BD-RE discs for doing your initial burns, once you have a godd burn and the movie is how you want it you can then copy the BD-RE to BD-R disc, then reuse the BD-RE - saves you money and wondering what to do with the coasters.

I use Verbatim BD-RE - never had one fail yet.

Hi

. . . . Thanks for your reply.  I tried burning an AVCHD disc using Roxio Creator MyDVD software and that disc plays fine.  So the issue is that MEP16 burns the disc somehow differently than MyDVD does.  The problem is that I love MEP16 for editing.  Magix should look into how and why their AVCHD burns differ from MyDVD's.

MEP 16 should not have a problem burning AVCHD or BD to a DVD-R discs so long as the movie is less than ~30 mins long.

. . . . Second question:  I did buy a few BD-R blanks but my burner doesn't "see" them.  Do I need a special burner to burn material to a BD-R?  I have never used BD=rs before. . . .

Yes you need a Blu-ray burner - a DVD burner cannot recognise BD discs.  Apologies - don't know why but I was under the impression you had a BD burner hence the suggestion to use BD-RE discs  .
