Automatic Movement assignment for group of pictures

twht08 wrote on 6/25/2013, 10:16 PM

Hi,

Is there a way to automatically assign random movement to a group of pictures? Assigning it individually will take a long time. I am familiar with this feature from Corel VideoStudio. It also recognize and knows what best movement to assign individual pictures. Maybe 10%, I will have to re-assign it. Otherwise, the feature is very nice.

Just wondering if this feature is built into Movie Edit Pro MX. If not, maybe this will be suggestion for future feature.

Thank you!

Tom

Yes, place the pictures on the Timeline, and go to Edit > Wizards > Slideshow Maker (Shortcut  Ctrl+M) where you can make different choices

Hi Tom,

Hopefully I'm wrong and the Slideshow Wizard suggested by Andreas will meet your needs. But I suspect that you'll find its movement randomising very limited. (And from my own tests also repetitive from one session to another, so not truly random at all.)

I too wish there was such an effect in MEP. Years ago I used a program called MemoriesOnTV which had that facility and I used it a lot. Especially for randomly moving text in intros like this example:

Now in MEP I have to resort either to manual entry of suitable KF values, an external program, or use a macro script.

Hi

I agree with Terry - the Slideshowmaker wizard should meet your needs, contrary to Terry's comment . . . .'from my own tests also repetitive from one session to another, so not truly random at all.' . . . . I find it much more random in testing - particularly when you start playing around with the settings as shown in images 2 and 3 (buttons 2 and 3 in image 1..

To apply the wizard to a selected set of images you must set a range which contains the images you want to apply the effects to, and check the option shown in image 1.

Thats an interesting titles effect. Must be a lot of work to do it manually. Thanks!

Hi,

The slideshow wizard works ok and you have even more control if you use the dialogue boxes on the right hand side of the effect and fade screens per below.

When I use this feature, I usually set up the intensity and style of effects I want to use, then if it creates a few I don't like, I just delete the effect in the timeline and insert the one I want.

Hi

I think the slideshow maker is very clever in the way it applies the effects that fit with the picture content and shape.

I can imagine though, that it would start to have a type of "sameness" from one project to the next without a bit of tweaking as Terry suggests.

I agree with you SS. The effect assignment seems "cleaver" and suitable for the picture content most of the time. I ran a few previews with different photo arrnagement and the same pictures almost get the same effect assignment. I highly recommend this Slideshow maker tool. I can't imagine the time it will take me to create it manually. I am glad I asked. Thanks.
