Auto Play DVD movie, if selection is not done after some time? or Play the first Movie after a lapse of a certain time

I burnt my DVD with movies, chapters and audio selections. If a user does not select his options, I want my DVD to start playing after certain time or after completing the first loop on the menu item.

I loaded a music for say a minute, allowing the user to do his selection within this time frame. After the music play, my DVD stops at the main menu, indefinitely waiting for the user to do his selection.

This static first screen may give burn-out images on the modern LCD TV, if the screen is frozen with a non-moving image for hours.. Hence, I am desperate to avoid it.

Should I to untick "repeat Background" "Play menu animation"?

Hi

AFAICS there is no option to do this in MEP.

You need to use a DVD editing software that will allow you to program the necessary flags and actions in the DVD menu - I have used DVD Lab Pro 2 which will do what you want at a price and a steep learning curve.

A static image will not cause burn out images on LCD or LED TV's are there is nothing to 'burn' - they either pass the rear light through the pixels elements (LCD or LED backlit LCD)  or turn LEDs on/off (true LED TV) or not.

Image burn only occurred with the old electron gun phosphor based tube tv's where the electron beam made the phosphors glow and over a period of time the phosphor deteriorated if playing a static image - hence the term 'burn=out'
