audio track sync with video

Hello,

I have 2 videos taken at the same time with different video cameras I want to take the sound from one and put it in the video clip of the other. The catch here is I want the sound to be in sync with the video. In other words I have people’s lips moving and I want it in sync so it doesn’t look like a bad Godzilla movie.  Is there any easy way of doing this within Magix?

Hi

If you want to switch the video between 2 cameras look up Multicam mode in the manual.  There is a good explanation there of what you need to do. The manual is a pdf file installed with the software and is in the Documentation folder for the program, there is a link on your Start Menu.

Alternatively if you just  want the audio from the second camera put the corresponding clips one below the other on the timeline.

Select the clip from which you just need the sound,

Ungroup the audio from the video and delete the video clip

Right click each audio component and select Create Waveform.

Hopefully there will be a short sharp sound or recognisable peak which can align the audio tracks together with. Then make the necessary cuts etc.  To avoid audible clicks cut the audio with a 2 - 3 frame overlap and apply a very short ie 2 -3 frame fade in/out to each one as necessary

Note - if the two sources are from different make/model of cameras then you may have the added problem matching the audio tonal quality and the video colour balances.
