Audio & sound do not match up, video is ahead of sound. ??

Audio & sound do not match up.  When I play back the video, the sound lags by a coupel seconds. This doesn't happen when I start the video from the beginning, but it does happen if I use a marker and start from somewhere in the middle of the video.  This happens with all large video clips.  What's wrong?

Hi,

What kind of source material is it that you're using (video formt/codec/origin) and how did you get it into the program? Have you already tried rendering the video (e.g. into a file on your hard drive or DVD) and can you make any statement as to whether the problem seems to show up on the final result? Thanks.

Hi again,

Thanks for clarifying this. However, the most important detail is still missing: What is your source material that you're working with? What's the format/codec and where does it come from? Can you possibly upload a sample. Maybe there's something that can be done with it to make it usable in the context of this program.

A generic answer - we had this problem on an elearning program. We were using Macromedia (Adobe now) Director - in Shockwave format

We ended up splitting the audio out separately, then put in markers, and advanced video when we hit the markers.

I'm working on another elearning title - each 'scene' will not be too long so I have control over this.  Consider cutting up the video into scenes - it keeps interest up and is a way to avoid some problems.

Hi,

I am having the same problem.  I am importing directly from a video camera that uses .VOB file format.  I have rendered a final movie and have viewed the .vob import prior to exporting to a movie. Either way the audio does not match the video.  We have also tried several recording to make sure that there was nothing wrong with our video camera.  The audio is just off a bit but enough to make it unprofessional.  The video does play correctly if I use a separate program to convert the .vob files or play the .vob files.

Please help before we request our money back.
