Audio recording level grayed out

Muka1 wrote on 6/14/2015, 4:14 PM

I am trying to record a vocal track using an external mic hooked up to my computer and the recording (when playback) is very low. I open the Audio Recording form (icon right of the record button) and I noticed that the Left and Right channel is grayed out and does not give me an option to set the volume level. Any idea why this is?

I'm using MMM 2015 Premium and very new at this.My computer is a desktop with Win7 OS. Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Since you're new to MMM, you should watch this tutorial. It might help.

If your mic is connected directly to your computer soumd card, then the mic level is controlled by your computer and not MMM. Open the Windows sound (speaker icon in the task tray bottom right, probably) and adjust the mic under the recording part.

I'm travelling so I can't help much more.

John,

Thanks for the input and the tutorial. I tried to follow it but when I open MMM, I am seeing the first screen but I do not see anywhere to install/download all add-ons as mentioned in the tuturial. Is my installation corrupted?

Thanks again.
