Hi

MEP has two different ways of displaying video/sound

1  - display  video and audio combined on one track - this is the default

2  - display video and audio on two seperate tracks.

Right click the video and select Audio and waveform display, Video/audio on seperate tracks (or Ctrl + H)  to view the video on one track with the audio below it.

You can set the default display option in the program settings ( P key)

Hi

John,  when I right click I then goto Audio and Waveform display.   The additional menu come up and there is no vieo/audio on seperate tracks option.   When I highlight the film frame and hit ctrl H nothing happens.  When I highlight and hit the ungroup button or shift g the film goes from highlighted to not.

Aha - that is a mysterious problem as I occasionally get - I do not know why this happens and have found it is difficult to reproduce consistently.  I think it has something to do with initialising the audio renderers

However a work around for me is to remove the clip from the timeline (make a note of its name - let us say it is file0001 ).  Save the project and close MEP

Using Windows Explorer locate the folder where the video files are and look for files which end in .hdp and/or .h0 for the offending clip; using the example above file0001.hdp and/or file0001.h0 - delete them.

Start MEP and open the project.  Locate the clip in the media pane and click the little play icon that appears when you mouse over the clip, so that it plays in the preview window - while it is playing drag the clip to the timeline.

You should now be able to get the menu options.

HTH

John
