IN MOVIE EDIT PRO 17 PLUS IN INDIVIDUAL AUDIO OBJECT THE STANDARD HANDLES FOR FADE IN AND FADE OUT ARE MOVED IN TO FADE IN AND FADE OUT BUT THE MUSIC DOES NOT FADE IN AND FADE OUT. HOW CAN I FIX THIS?

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

First, you should never post confidential personal data like your phone number or email address to a public forum like this one; this is not Magix Support. Hence I have edited your post to remove them.

Second, please don't post ALL IN CAPITALS! It is considered to be the forum equivalent of SHOUTING and is not likely to endear you to anyone who might wish to offer help to you.

As to your question, I have never seen this happen unless, entirely accidentally, I have created a copy of the audio object and somehow placed it on a lower track so outside the "visible" area of the timeline. If that happens, the audio does not fade, despite the setting of those handles, because the "copy's" level remains at its "maximum".

So, have you checked by scrolling the timeline "downwards" that there is not a "stray" copy of the object on a higher-numbered track?

If that is not the reason, can you show us a screenshot of the timeline that includes this audio object?

One other thing: is your program literally "MEP 17" or is it "MEP 2017"?

I have MEP 14 Plus and 15 Plus as well as MEP 17 Plus not 2017. (I do not have MEP 2017 Plus.), also, I have Video Pro X2. These 3 other programs are installed on the computer with MEP 17 Plus. (See Photo.) I would have used X2, but not all the features would work. As you can see from the pix of MEP 17 Plus audio section when I move the node handles for fade in and fade out this does not actually do that – NO fade in and fade out. I have re-installed MEP 17 Plus under Repair, but this did not fix the problem. I tried to do a fade in fade out in with Magix Music Studio 2. This worked. I tried some of the other Magix video editing programs with the fade in fade out audio problem. Non of these worked too. Please see all my attachments on this problem. Some of the programs have a shield over the icon such as Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus. Is this significant? Jim

How do I send you jpg photos that I created to let you see this problem.

I may have activated compatibility mode on MEP 17 Plus. Jim

Hi Jim. I don't know what operating system you are using but I'll assume it is Win 10 and a current build.

One thing I noticed recently with one of the last few Windows updates was that in the Windows sound mixer that the Stereo Mix property in the advanced settings of my PC was changed and the 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' was ticked and stopped some functions on my PC. It does not need to be ticked for applications to work, so I've un-ticked mine and got some previous apps to work that had been disabled. Whether this is a part of your problem or not I could not say but may be worth trying.

I have also annoyingly noticed that One Drive has also been reactivated. Going to kill that one right now.

Ray.

Hi Jim

Bad news I'm afraid.

Looking at your images you have many programs which are not Windows 10 compatible - it is shorter for me to list the ones that are, or could be OK with Windows 10 - Music Maker (2020?) and 2021 - the pink icons, Music Maker 2014 may be, some of the others may work fully or with issues.

Windows 10 broke the earlier my installations of MEP 17 and MX.

Upgrading MEP to a more modern version is doubtful as the computer does not meet the minimum specifications for running a more modern version of MEP and will struggle severely due to the low powered processor, no suitable integrated graphics GPU - it has a HD Graphics for Intel Atom Processor Z3700 Series, and 4GB of RAM is insufficient.

If the computer was upgraded from an earlier version of Windows then, depending on when the upgrade was done, the date where you could roll it back to the previous installed version of Windows may have passed.

It may be time for a new computer and Movie Edit Pro if this is practical.

Hi.

One thing I have noticed about Windows compatibility mode is that it seems only capable of altering the visual side of Windows and not the audio side of Windows.

The only way around that I can see is to go back to an earlier version of Windows and keep that machine off line as much as possible to use those programs.
