Audio issues: noise or no audio

Hi there,

for xmas we got Music Maker Control Edition (Version 25.1.2.78). It runs on a Dell XPS 13 9360 (Windows 10 Version 1709).

Music Maker has issues when using the integrated speakers:

1. As soon as Music Maker is running, all other programs are "muted". For example Chrome browser, which I run in parallel to watch Music Maker tutorials, does not play audio any more. Even Windows volume control is not playing the test sound any more when volume is changed.

2. If I open Music Maker settings, Audio/Midi and close this dialog by clicking "OK" button, Music Maker only outputs a noise when playing loops or a software instrument. Sometimes restarting Music Maker helps but not always.

On a side note, I observed the message "Magix Low Latency 2016 - MusicMaker 512 Samples @44100Hz" when I start Music Maker and when closing the Audio/Midi dialog with "OK". Maybe this driver is the culprit?

Sometimes the audio behaviour is the opposite, i.e., Music Maker is not outputting any sound and all other programs work as expected.

What can I do so the system runs as expected (except for buying an Apple computer)?

Thanks

Dan
