Audio Cleaning Lab Mx Recording

When I click on the Recording icon, I get the message: Encountered an improper argument.

None of the drop down boxes in the recording screen have anything in them -- no choices.

I've used Audio Cleaning Lab since on this computer since version 12 and never had a problem recording.

I'm using Windows 7, 32 bit version

1. Do you have anything plugged in to record from eg microphone or other audio input via the blue socket on your PC before attempting to record?

If you are trying to record something playing on your computer and there is no device to record from, then I would guess you have a Realtek sound card and the stereo mixer is not enabled. To enable this, from the Start menu select Control Panel, Sound.

Select the Recording tab, right click in the white area where it shows the devices and tick the boxes as shown below

You should now be able to record from the computer when it is playing audio.
