Audio Cleaning Lab 2016 Dolby importing.

I am planning to upgrade to Audio Cleaning Lab 2016 and would like to confirm two things: 1. Will it create FLAC files in 96k 24bit format? and 2. Does it contain Dolby B and Dolby C decoding for reading cassette tapes? My current cassette player does not include Dolby C capability but I do have many tapes which I recorded on my previous machine.

Hi,

Upgrading from which version?

I would not go to ACL2016, but instead get Audio & Music Lab 2016 Premium. You will find that ACL does not allow much control over the effects parameters. Also AML has 5  eFX Essential effects that are well worth the extra money.

AML can export to FLAC.

The program does not decode or read a cassette, the cassette player has to do that. What gets recorded by the program is the audio output from the cassette player that is plugged in to the audio in on the computer or through a USB.input from an external audio card, which essentially does the same thing.

Once the file is in the computer, then you use the tools to clean and master the file, for exporting to a final formal.

I suggest that you download and install the trial version and test it yourself. Read through the on-line help manual under the Help menu.

Thanks for a prompt and helpful response. I will be upgrading from ACL 12 but it is not currently installed as I have a new laptop on which I have recently installed Windows 10.
