Hi

Windows 2010?  I think there is some confusion here between Windows and Microsoft Office 2010 - you have either Windows 7 or 8.

You have a compatability issue between the software, Windows and the CD/DVD drive, the software is an old version  - it is now at version 18 (MX).

The only real option is to upgrade to the latest version - however if you decide to do this and have Windows 8 try the trial version before purchasing to check compatability.

Minor correction to johnebaker's post.  Office 2010 will run on XP (not supported on 64 bit XP) and Vista.  If it really is a new system (and new is a relative term) and someone sold you the Gateway product with Vista within say the last 6 months, you either bought old stock or got an incredible deal on the system.  If you bought it in the last 6 to 12 months and it had XP as the OS, go back to where you bought it and argue with them about basically a outdated OS.

Good Luck.

Hi

Office 2010 will run on XP (not supported on 64 bit XP) and Vista.  Hmmm cannot see where I said it didn't !!!

What I said was:

' I think there is some confusion here between Windows and Microsoft Office 2010 - you have either Windows 7 or 8'

I come across this a lot in my job - people thinking Office is Windows.

@johnebaker, LOL, you did not say that it wouldn't, you just mentioned only windows 7 and 8  my correction was ony to say that Office 2010 also runs on XP and Vista.   It was an expansion of your post.    glad to see the smilies are back.

Hello John and George,

Thanks so much for the information (and clarification).

I understand that my Cleaning Lab v. 10 won't run on my new system. With that being said, Is there a way that I can save my existent projects so that they will not be lost when I install a new version of the software?

Thanks again to both of you.
