Audio Cleaning Lab 10 deluxe and Windows 8.1

I have got Audio Cleaning Lab 10 deluxe and Windows 8.1. I know that Audio Cleaning Lab 10 deluxe is no longer supported but I want to find out if it'spossible to get it to work. I have installed in but when I try to record, I get the error "A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system". I have read the FAQ but I don't understand it.

- it refers to Program settings. Is this in Control panel (and if so, where?) or in Audio Cleaning Lab?

- it refers to the recording screen being in Advance mode. Where is that?

- it also refers to the Playback tab. Where is that?.

- it says to check output device is your Soundcard. If this is correct, try switching from Wave to DirectSound or vice versa.. What does this mean?

Thanks

Fiona

Hi

The bottom line is the program is not fully compatible with Windows 8.1

The software was released in 2001 and was originally designed to work with Windows XP.

Windows and computer hardware have moved on significantly from then, hence the error message you are getting, which means it cannot find the sound card, also you may find that the software does not recognise your CD / DVD drive, and other functions not may work as expected.

Time to upgrade to the latest version which is Windows 8.1 compatible.
