Audio Cleaning Lab

Although I can transfer from Cassette tape to USB (DJ-Tech), and the file shows the FULL recorded length, when I open a file of some 25 / 30 minutes length in Audio Cleaning Lab 2008 SE (yes, I know it's probably old, but that's what came with the DJ-Tech K7E-10 this week !), only a certain length is opening up !  Anyone help please ?  Is there a limit ?

Cheers in advance for any assistance.

Unfortunately, I am not sure what version this DJ Tech comes with... I have used Audio Cleaning Lab for years, and the only limit I know of is hard drive space. What I mean by this is I could record indefinitely if I had the hard drive space to support that.

So, if I only have 500GB hard disc space, I can only record 500GB worth of audio. If I am recording in 16 bit, 44100 Hz then I am recording about 10 MB for every minute... you can do the math.

Now this 2008 version I have never heard of... I had a 2004, 2005, but then it went to version 10, 11, and now its on version 17. Now the SE is part is telling me its not a full version of the Audio Cleaning Lab, so it might be that this is a light version with a limitation.

Many thanks John for your quick reply.

Looks like I'll have to get the *full* and latest version.

Cheers and regards

Where did you get this DJ Tech item?

Where did you get this DJ Tech item?

Hi again John,

The DJ-Tech (K7E-10 Encoder) was on offer from a new Maplins store that opened up last Saturday morning next to the Ninian Park Football Ground in Cardiff. Despite the attraction of the price from approx. £79.99 RRP to £39.99 in store, I also had a further £10 off for being one of the first 20 customers to buy a unit.

I have since your previous communication sent for the latest full (i.e. not SE) version of MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 17 deluxe, and had yet another £10 knocked off the price. (£29.99).

Cheers once again John !

Without having the device, there is no clear cut answer that I can see.

I record directly from the stereo receiver, which has a cassette deck, turntable, and reel-to-reel components connected. I have the "Tape Out" on the receiver going to the "Line-In" of the computer sound card. Doing it this way gives me the ability to adjust the volume on the stereo receiver so my recording levels are optimal.

I can record for a great deal of time, and have not noticed any problems with the recording. This leads me to conclude that there is something with the device.

Is the device listed to work with your operating system? Maybe there is a incompatibility if you are running Windows 7.
