Audio Buffering Playback & WAV 5.1 Export issues....

Metallica4Life wrote on 10/30/2014, 10:28 AM

Hi friends,
I'm in the middle of making my drum blu-ray, and am planning on making a Dolby 5.1 soundtrack,
but have decided to use Sony Vegas to mix/pan the final soundtrack, since everytime I tried to export final audio file as a WAV 5.1 file, it would save it as a diggicoupon or similar bug/virus file :S Anyone else ever had this problem? I located and deleted these annoying shop advert files/folders, but it still wont export as a WAV file.
Considering re-installing the program, but will my BUILD files and video work be able to re-open with a re-install?
Other issue I am having is playback of my project, as it keeps crashing/freezing.
I have tried altering the buffer size/other options relating to audio in playback panel/screen, but seems to be getting worse :S I am using WAV driver, not DirectSound.
On paper my PC should easily deal with it. I have got 14 tracks in use, 2 Video/Credit/Chroma backdrop tracks, and 12 Audio tracks, but mainly mute at least 3/4 of these for playback, and still same issues.
Any help much appreciated,

Cheers! :)

Dan.

Hi

No - it sounds like your computer has been compromised with either  a virus, spamware, adware or a rogue browser add-in.

All your other issues could be arising from this as these rogue advert software can hog resources and interupt normal processes to the point of crashing a computer.

What anti virus and spamware software are you using?

John

Hi John mate,
many thanks for the reply, yeah I'm afraid that's what I thought. I'm afraid I'm only using Microsoft security essentials at present, as I didnt initially want to use the PC much if at all for online use, only video editing for this very reason :S I may risk re-installing software before completing my project in order to be able to have option of outputting 5.1 WAV files or mono/stereo WAV's to mix in Vegas. If I reinstall it now, would my existing MEP2014 folders/projects still work/load into fresh install?

Hi

You need to get rid of the virus/spam/addware/brower plugin before you do anything else.

MalwareBytes is a good free program for getting rid of many of these programs - do be aware you may get offered additional extras - if so there is no requirement to install them and you can decline them.

HTH
