Are these Magix files?

terrypin wrote on 5/8/2013, 11:40 AM

While browsing for a music track for my current project I came across a folder with many WAV files like these:

C:\Docs\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2013 Premium\AudioTemp\Emotion Action-4 84090.wav
C:\Docs\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2013 Premium\AudioTemp\Emotion Jazzy-0 56241.wav

But, although I thought they were installed Magix files, I cannot find any of them anywhere else except that temporary holding folder.

Anyone else have them please?

Or perhaps I obtained them elsewhere and used them in earlier projects...

Hi Terry

The files in AudioTemp are the audio files created by Soundtrack Maker -. If you delete them and then open the project which used them you get the usual message about objects not found.

When I am satisfied with the sound track in a project, I copy them from this folder to the Audio folder in my project folder structure so they are always available for the project  and the do the missing objects 'thing' on next opening of the project.

If you do not empty this folder regularly then you will accumulate these files.

Thanks John, of course, that's reminded me where they came from!

Presumably, although the names created by SlideshowMaker are different, the music is all to be found in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2013 Premium\Slideshow music

Hi John and Terry

If you have let MEP create a "New folder for all project files" from the splash screen that opens when you create a new project (you have probably disabled this when the program first opened after install / reset) then these files will be copied or placed in that specific new folder (in its own Audio temp) automatically. For any other files or masks, etc used, a prompt will appear saying "Do you wish these files to be copied to the (specific) folder or just imported to the timeline". If you choose Just import the file will stay in their folder or in the case of auxillary files will appear in the default C/: ....../ MEP2013 directory.
