Arabic Subtitles

nirvanray wrote on 4/12/2014, 6:06 AM

Hello friends,
Can someone please guide me how to put Arabic subtitles?
I know normal subtitles in English is easy but Arabic is from right to left and when I copy-paste the sentences (given to me by my clients) they appear different.
I have one example below:
It is ok dear, it’s just a game and winning and losing is a part of life.
عادي ولا يهمك,و هذه هي سنة الحياه فيها فوز و خساره

Some one please help,
Regards.

Hi Anirban

This question has been asked before - MEP has limited support for RTL languages.

To work around this, use images for the subtitles.

Using your favourite image editor create images of appropriate size with a transparent background and add  the text in an appropriate colour,  save as png files.  Import the images into MEP on a lower track then your content.

Hi Anirban

. . . . Can you kindly elloborate . . .

The second paragraph of my reply explains how to do it - you need to create images (pictures) with a transparent  and the text., then import these into MEP.

An example of your text above is here

Note: the text characters have changed slightly in putting the above text into an image - is my version of Arabic different from yours or is it correct?

Hi,

The fact is the English text is write from left to right using standard type non attached. The Arabic text is write from right to left and attached letter using at least 3 kind of letter alphabet. How to overcome this ? The best way is to use Corel Draw or a drwaing software 1) You write your text directly on the scrren using arabic type use a screen in pixel may be 1920 x 1080 px. 2) Fill the text with white or color you can use diffrent color for contour, 3) Create a background may be a rectangle around your text like a box containning the text 4) Select nboth rectangle (box) abd text, export using PNG or JPG 120 dpi. PNG can be transparent color or transparent background like TV.

Import the image in Video De Luxe.

Regards,
