Applying reverb to a snare drum only in a drum VSTi/drum track?

I've been trying out some drum VSTis and creating some drum tracks in Samplitude Music Studio 2016 using the midi editor. When I add reverb, it adds it to the entire drum track, but I only want to add it to the snare drum. What's the best way to do this? Would I have to record the snare drum on a separate track, or is there a way to add is to the snare only within one drum track? Thanks.

You need a multi-timbral instrument. Try MTPowerDrumKit2 - it's free. When you load it, the multi-timbral dialog will pop up. Follow Kraznet's instructions, more or less. This worked for me. In the instrument mixer, I mapped the Kick to output channel 1, the others from 2 to 8 in groups. Back in the Samplitude tracks, arm the main track and play with the mixer on. You'll see the different drums show up in different tracks. Now you can add the effect that you want to the track. I added reverb to the kick track, no problem.

I have been trying to figure out how to do this using a Vita drum kit, but I have given up for the day.
