Apply background image to shape

Using MAGIX Foto and Graphics Designer 7 how do apply a background image to a shape i.e. circle or rectangle.

Sorrry I don't have XP&GD here to check, but a look at the features list on the Magix site showed easy fill of an outline with an graphic file:

This is an irregular shape but the same would work for a circle. For a rectangle I'd just crop a section of your image and lay it on top.
