APOGEE jam for connecting an electric bass guitar

mark-b wrote on 12/17/2016, 10:30 AM

Hi, my laptop recognises the APOGEE Jam (guitar interface for jack to USB) but I can't play into Magix Music Maker. I've got pro and classic MM but can't make it work. What I'm trying to do is play my electric double bass into Music Maker directly and record digitally like I can with GarageBand on an iPad. Has anyone got any ideas? Many thanks...

Hi

Assuming you are using a 64 bit version of Windows 7, 8 or 10 then you may need to install 32 bit drivers for the Apogee device - these should be available from the manufacturers web site for the appropriate version of Windows you have.

Once installed you should see the device in the Audio recording settings.

Also please read this topic before posting.

Hi John,

Many thanks for your reply. What I was getting at is that the transition from using a Mac that works with my Apogee Jam to a PC that wants drivers that don't seem to exist is a little frustrating and time consuming, as it is not documented anywhere. Apogee seems to be a Mac/iOS only product with the exception of new Jam for Windows 10.

Thanks for referring me to the posting topic, however some details are irrelevant. I believe I am within the guidlines by asking what guitar interface you or anyone in the community would recommend for using the Vandal SE virtual amplifier? I love the Music Maker product and am keen to test it to its fullest bounds of creativity.

Many thanks for your time.

Hi

For musical work I only have experience of a Focusrite USB Audio Interface (an early model) used by a music teacher/musician friend of mine - IMHO they are the 'universal' device for audio to PC with good support.

There are many other similar devices available a search with Google will find many such as this supplier - the choice is yours.

Note: I have no affiliation of any kind with the companies mentioned.
