Not sure whether Movie Edit Pro or Video Pro X will be able to do a lot for you on that mission. They are video editing programs and not fully-featured special effects and compositing solutions. You can possibly get some mildly interesting color effects by using the "Color" manipulation/correction section under "Effects" => "Video effects" in the mediapool. Then you got some filters and distortions in that section as well. The chroma keying is probably only interesting if you have some other interesting footage that you can combine with your main video. You can use it in the less conventional manner (not as a pure blue-screen solution) to achieve some more interesting effects. However, you will still need some other footage to combine your clip with.
