annoying 3 beeps

as of yesterday my sound forge pro 17 is emitting a 3tone beep every few seconds. The program was downloaded, is fully legal and worked fine since last January.

What is the solution?

@adeade Are you editing compressed audio files like mp3 files? Then enable to always proxy compressed audio files in the program preferences.

Are you using any third-party plug-ins? Some will emit noise or cut out periodically until they are activated.I do not think of the included plug-ins would do that.
