Animations issue

Emma-Carey wrote on 4/20/2020, 5:50 AM

I have made a site with some basic animations (Reveal & scroll) which were working fine.
But when I make changes to the site (unrelated & not near to the animated images) & upload the site
the images with animations completley vanish when live on the browser?

I have tried various things but it keeps happening...?? Any ideas Please! Its driving me mad!

@Emma-Carey

Hi and welcome to the forum.

. . . . upload the site the images with animations completely vanish when live on the browser . . . .

This is often a browser caching issue - did you try refreshing the page using F5.

Yes! Ok so they are there! Phew! Its weird though, why would just the animations keep disapearing?

Hi

. . . . why would just the animations keep disapearing . . . .

Good question!

There are several reasons - all related to the browser eg cached copies not being updated properly, plugins or addons affecting the rendering of the page, old browsers which do not support HTML5, old browser javascript not updated correctly or supporting modern javascript functions

Browsers are supposed to follow the W3C standards for how pages should be rendered, however there has been some different interpretations on some aspects of the standards over the years which resulted in differences in how the pages look.

When creating websites I used to test in multiple browsers Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explore/Edge, Opera and, when it was current, the Windows version of Safari, all current versions at the time of testing.
