Animated Gifs? And stop source file Deletion.

ezeht wrote on 4/4/2023, 2:07 PM

MS 2023 Suite- Test Trial Ver. Does this program make animated gif's. I do not see Gif in the file- movie export.

I am trying to figure out if I wish to buy this program. I want to cut a little section from my videos and make Animated Gifs. Most other programs you buy of this type allows you to do so.

Also, Is it some setting I can change so the program does not delete my source file from the folder I import from. I almost lost my video. I tried to remove the video from the timeline, and it tried to delete my video completely off my computer- now the file shows as a movie studio file or just a sound file. I searched online and figured out how recover the video and saved it, and now I do not know where it was saved to. Other programs you can set it so it does not delete the source file.

Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the user to user forums.

No.

No Magix video products support animated giffs as that would be considered a photo editing package export.

The Magix Photo editing package can import giff images but not export giffs.

Adobe Photoshop used to be able to export animated giffs but I don't know if that is still the case.

Personally I would look for a photo editing package rather than a video editing package to do this.

A lot of websites no longer allow the uploading of animated giffs and the form has generally declined in use over the years.

Adobe, Cyberlink, Corel, Pinnacle, Filmora all have Animated Gif Creator and older versions of vegas did gif exports.

The info as far as what this program actually does is very little. I had to download install set up an account and almost lost my video- still may have lost it- and now told the program cant do what I wish.

Ok thanks. The price looked real nice. I hope I have no problems deleting the program

@ezeht Gif export was possible many years ago when Quicktime for Windows was still available because Gif export needed Quicktime to be installed. Apple killed it and then it was removed.

You have got to be kidding. Did you even bother to look?

Some helped- thanks.

Yes mr nice guy forum stalker. I looked, and the site is confusing- I guess on purpose so maybe you can be an extra wonderful person and show us noobs how great and extra smart and tough you are. Offer no help but fast to show we should not ask questions. Maybe I missed it. I saved my money on this program. Some attitude is enough not to buy- maybe a mod should kick you off the site.

Gifs are still very popular- other than in the eyes of Magix fans it seems. Did you know Gif is the second most used image file- Jpeg #1 and many businesses use them.

I say again- it seems only Vegas or Magix does not have a gif creator and or their fans do not like them and some attack them that do.

Never mind. I spent my money on Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2023. I might buy PaintShop Pro 2023 Ulitmate and a sound studio from someplace else if not enough built into videostudio. This site says noob and or user friendly- until the forum super fan stalker is here. Is ok tho- I spend a lil more but get what I want or need.

See yah.

Just pointing out the obvious. Your questions were fine until you came back with:

The info as far as what this program actually does is very little.

which would lead one to think that you didn't actually look, or you would have seen the table that I showed you. I could accept that you didn't see the table, until you made the above comment. Then...

Now you come back with:

Yes mr nice guy forum stalker. I looked, and the site is confusing- I guess on purpose so maybe you can be an extra wonderful person and show us noobs how great and extra smart and tough you are.

I would have answered your questions nicely but you had to add your unfounded comment before I could.

The Magix.com site under Movie Studio which you state "is confusing- I guess on purpose" gives you an Overview page, New Features, Tutorials, Functions, Specifications and Version Comparison pages along with a Buy page. And you find that confusing?

For your other question:

Is it some setting I can change so the program does not delete my source file from the folder I import from.

No. The import screen is a form of Windows Explorer and works like Windows Explorer. Delete something there and you have deleted it from your hard drive. This is one of the first things that I point out to new users in my tutorial on Gettting Started.

Deleting from the timeline does not delete a file from the hard drive, it just removes it from the timeline.

As for:

I hope I have no problems deleting the program

If you delete a program that was installed in Windows, then you are asking for problems. Always uninstall, never delete. The best is to use REVO Uninstaller to make sure that everything has been removed from your hard drive, including the registry entries.

I saved my money on this program. Some attitude is enough not to buy- maybe a mod should kick you off the site.

You weren't going to buy it anyways before I made my comment because it doesn't do GIF's and you said:

The price looked real nice. I hope I have no problems deleting the program
