All of a sudden - no video, audio only.

Opened a project in Movie Edit Pro Premium - everything seemed normal - images on timeline clips and on monitor. Decided to close without editing and start a new project and loaded an Mp4 clip - just a black/blank thumbnail on the track. Tried a .mts file - same thing except the thumbnail had a corrupted image - just vertical lines on the thumbnail - nothing at all in the playback window, save a flickering line at the base of the viewer. Audio seemed OK. Altered a few settings in Program settings - unchecked and checked Hardware acceleration playback, Hardware encoding export. Multiple restarts - just nothing. Did a program re-set - still nothing. I recently upgraded windows 7 to 10. Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650. PC is I7 processor, 16 Gb RAM. Any ideas please?

@hatfieldphoto

Hi and welcome to the user to user forum.

Earlier versions of Movie Edit Pro Premium may no longer run of Windows 10 and your pc specifications may no longer work with newer versions of the program. Sometimes if a person upgrades from Windows 7 to to Windows 10 rather than doing a fresh install from scratch an older copy of MEP may work for a short while but once it trips up we seldom see people get it work again. My advice would be to go back to windows 7 for now and install good online protection for internet use until you can afford to upgrade both the pc and a newer version of the program.

If you are not happy with this reply we would need a complete specification of your PC and the version of MEP you are running to see if anything else would be possible.

Ray.
