All headphone sound gone after install

duckminator wrote on 4/11/2018, 5:44 PM

So I just installed Music Maker (purchased 80s edition), and as soon as the install was finished all my sound output was gone.

I looked through some other threads and saw that changing the driver settings helped for some, but it did not help for me. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but that didn't help. I tried uninstalling Music Maker, then reinstalling the drivers but to no avail.

The built-in speakers on the laptop do work, but as soon as I try plugging something in the jack, it's all gone. The microphone input works with the jack too,but no output at all. I am desparate for help, I can not figure out what could be causing it.

Magix's asio driver might be occupying the audio out. Make sure Music-Maker isn't running and see if that helps

I found, while I had Music Maker running, that I couldn't play any of my mp3's. It's only when I closed MM, that I could play them again. It's seems to conflict with MM sound icon in the system tray.

Hi

As robertNC has stated, the program is using the Magix ASIO driver - change to Direct sound in the program settings as shown below

If you need to use ASIO for any reason then install ASIO4All this will then allow you to hear the audio.
