After upgrading to Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium 2017, my previously bundled and purchased NewBlueFX and proDAD Adorage add-ons are not enabled. How do I get these to function in my upgraded version 2017?

I own the following extra programs, either from previous purchases or from previous bundles from prior versions of MEP.  Non of these are available to me after I upgraded to MEP 2017 Premium last night.  How do I get these programs recognized with 2017?  Otherwise, the upgrade trade-off is not worth it.

NewBlueFX Video Essentials IV

NewBlueFX Motion Blends

NewBlueFX Motion Effects

ProDAD

I suspect the key question is: which previous version of MEP?

MEP Premium 2017 demands a 64 bit OS AND 64 bit plug-ins.  I think all those extras that you list may well be 32 bit only and hence they will not show up or work in the latest MEP.

It may be possible to obtain updates to the extra programs but I think you may have to buy them!

If I may pop in on this, sometimes this is possible and sometimes it is not (just to let you know, so you are not too disappointed..).

Sometimes the company that provides the Addons/Plugins does so at a reduced price or with a reduced set of features, doing a "tie-in" with the two products as a form of advertising/promotion. Sometimes the addon company allows for re-installation after upgrading the "main" product/program and sometimes it does not, where the addons or plugins are tied specifically to that one version or edition of the main program.

If the addons come with their own installer appilcation (that you run to obtain them) or are just a bundle of files (in a compressed file (zip, rar) etc) they may be able to be 'transplanted' into the new version of the main program. If they come 'built-in' or as part of the installation of the main program, they may not be able to be carried over if the main program is updated (they may not be present at all).

I do not own the Premium version of Movie Edit Pro so I do not know specifically if those addons are open to transferring over in this manner; but if you take a look at how the addons are installed/bundled with the main application, it will give you a start as to if it is possible. One caveat: some EULA or TOU (End User License Agreements or Terms Of Use) do not allow the carrying over of addons in this manner, even if they are available as a separate set of files - you may have to check the EULA or contact MAGIX Support directly to find out if it is explicitly disallowed or not...

Good luck with it!

My previous version is MEP Premium 2013

Is it a 64 bit program?  If not, that is the reason that add-ons for it will not necessarily work in the latest version, which is 64 bit.

Is your older version still installed? In my experience most add-ons offered with earlier MAGIX programs tend to also work with later versions IF the older one is still installed AND there is not a difference in OS bit-depth.

I've just been told by Magix that ProDAD effects installed and activated in MEP2016 (64-bit or whatever) do not work in MEP2017. Given that there are very few enhancements in the new version anyway, this is probably yet another reason NOT to upgrade.
